Evonne & Davie’s Scarista Beach Elopement, Isle of Harris

Evonne and Davie stayed at Scarista House for their wedding, and for a while it looked like the weather might have other plans entirely.

Half an hour before the ceremony, a prolonged rainstorm rolled in over the island, but as 3.30 approached, it started to clear, and we walked down to the beach where they had planned to have their wedding. Christine, the Harris registrar, conducted the ceremony, joined by two witnesses who turned out to be friends of friends, on the island by pure chance and very happy to be part of the day.

Evonne wore a Harris Tweed throw that matched the colours of the sea perfectly, and her dried bouquet gave a lovely pop of colour against the sand. They drank Isle of Harris whisky from their quaich during the ceremony, then celebrated their Scarista beach elopement afterwards with a champagne toast on the beach. Congratulations to you both, and wishing you all the best for your future together.
