Scottish Highland wedding photographer

As a Scottish Highland wedding photographer, I have a base in Inverness as well as on the Isle of Harris, so the Highlands are genuinely part of my life, not just somewhere I travel to for a wedding. I lived in Drumnadrochit for many years, as well as on the West Coast, Ullapool, and Aviemore, so I know the Highlands of Scotland intimately.

I’ve photographed many weddings at some of the finest venues in the Highlands, from Achnagairn Castle and Aldourie to Glenfinnan House and Inverlochy Castle, Skibo Castle and Eilean Donan Castle, relaxed countryside celebrations at Bogbain Farm and the Drumossie Hotel, ceremonies at Dornoch Cathedral, Inverness Cathedral, The Torridon and Bunchrew House, and elopements along the shores of Loch Ness. I’ve also shot weddings at Dunnottar Castle, Coul House Hotel, Ness Castle Lodges, The Ceilidh Place, Ardross Castle, Kingsmills Hotel, Tulloch Castle, and Strathpeffer Pavilion.

Whether you’re planning a grand celebration at a castle venue like Achnagairn or Aldourie, a relaxed countryside wedding at Bogbain Farm or the Drumossie Hotel, or a small elopement in the mountains, I’d love to be part of your day. As a Scottish Highland wedding photographer with a base in Inverness alongside my home on Harris, I know the light, the weather, and the hidden corners of the Highlands well, and I’m always glad to be there for your day.

Winter is when I’m based here full time, and it’s genuinely one of my favourite times to shoot a Highland wedding. Low golden light, roaring fires, and dramatic skies, with far fewer weddings competing for the best light of the day. If you’re planning a November to February date, I have more flexibility and I’d love to talk it through with you.

Aldourie Castle

An exclusive-use castle on the shores of Loch Ness, near Inverness. Aldourie’s grand architecture and dramatic loch-side setting make it one of my favourite Highland venues to photograph, whether it’s an intimate ceremony in the castle or a full day of celebrations in the grounds. I have spent a lot of time at the castle photographing events and interiors as well as weddings over the years.

Achnagairn Castle

A 17th-century estate near Kirkhill, just outside Inverness, with grand interiors and sweeping grounds that make for a stunning wedding backdrop. Achnagairn has been the setting for some truly memorable Highland weddings I’ve photographed, from ceremonies in the Great Hall to golden hour portraits across the estate.

Eilean Donan Castle

Eilean Donan is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland, and for good reason. Eilean Donan sits where three lochs meet, and its dramatic island setting makes it a genuinely spectacular place for a wedding.

The Torridon

Wild mountains, dramatic weather, and some of the most breathtaking scenery in Scotland, The Torridon is everything I love about photographing Highland weddings. Whether it’s a full celebration at the hotel or a small elopement out in the hills, this is a beautiful place to be married.

The Ceilidh Place

A warm, characterful wedding venue in the heart of Ullapool on Scotland’s west coast, The Ceilidh Place brings together good food and a relaxed atmosphere that suits a genuinely informal wedding. I used to live  very close and have photographed many weddings at The Ceilidh Place.

Bogbain Farm

A relaxed, rustic wedding venue just outside Inverness, with barns, woodland, and open countryside offering a genuinely laid-back alternative to a grand castle. Bogbain Farm suits couples who want their day to feel easy and unfussy, with plenty of space for celebrations that spill outdoors.

More Highland venues

Beyond these, as a Scottish Highland Wedding Photographer, I have photographed at many more wonderful venues, including Skibo Castle, Loch Ness Country House Hotel, Loch Ness Lodge, Coul House Hotel, Bogbain Farm, Dornoch Cathedral,Inshriach House and The Drummossie Hotel. Every Highland wedding is different, and I’d love to talk through your own venue, wherever it is.
