Kate & Nicky married on the Isle of Harris in June. Their wedding day was blustery and rainy with no let-up! it is probably the first wedding I have had on the island where it rained continuously all day, and meant that they couldn’t continue as planned on the beach for their wedding ceremony. I have been photographing weddings on the Isle of Harris for about 15 years now, and most of them take place outdoors on the beach, sometimes with the odd umbrella thrown in. But this time, it had been like winter for a while. So they made the decision to use the marriage room in Tarbert instead. And go ahead with the photography the next day in the better weather that was forecast. It meant that they had a warm and dry wedding ceremony with family and friends, and still had the lovely beach photographs that they so wanted.
We met at Scarista beach the next day, and the clouds went away just long enough for some lovely skies and no rain. Kate and Nicky were travelling in a hired VW camper van and staying around the island for what would be a completely memorable trip to the Outer Hebrides. . It was a real pleasure to photograph these wedding images for you both!
